  • What is the Mazda M Hybrid Technology?

    It is innovative evolution of hybrid car technology that uses a small Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) that captures energy normally wasted during braking.

    Instead of the power being unused, the kinetic energy is stored as electric energy in the battery, and is then used to start the engine from idling stop and power the car's electrical components. Using this stored energy eases the engine's load, thus improving fuel efficiency and reducing carbon dioxide emissions.

  • How does the Mazda M Hybrid Technology work?

    When you decelerate, the ISG produces electric energy, which is stored in a 24V battery. This electric energy is used to start the engine from idling stop and to provide motor assistance when you pull away. It can also power the car's electrical systems, like the airconditioning system, electric parking brake, headlights, and power windows.

  • Do I need to charge the battery?

    No. The battery charges while you're driving, but only when you slow down. It never takes power away from the engine.

  • How do I maintain the car?

    The periodic maintenance service schedule for M Hybrid vehicles is every 10,000km or six months, whichever comes first. All brand-new Mazda vehicles come with a Free 5-Year Service Plan, so you maintaining your M Hybrid vehicle is practically worry-free.
