2024 Mazda3 Enhanced with New Connectivity, Safety Features

September 13, 2023, Manila, Philippines -- The award-winning Mazda3 builds on its engaging driving dynamics and sophisticated design with new connectivity and safety features for 2024. The updates are part of Mazda Philippines’ promise of offering the latest human-centric technologies that promote Mazda’s central tenet of Jinba-ittai while also reinforcing its status as the most fully-loaded compact car in the market today.

Enhancements to the 2024 Mazda3 include a new, larger Mazda Connect infotainment screen that has grown from 8 to 10.25 inches allowing for clearer, crisper graphics. Improved connectivity is offered thanks to the inclusion of Wireless Apple CarPlay, dual USB-C ports for faster charging, and a wireless charger. For added convenience, 2024 models are also equipped with auto fold side mirrors which automatically retract when the car is locked. These are on top of the Mazda3’s already impressive list of standard features including a 12-speaker Bose sound system, dual-zone climate control with rear vents, electric sunroof, and windshield-projected heads-up display.

The cabin continues to take on a minimalist approach with every aspect laid out in perfect horizontal symmetry. It calls attention to the Mazda3’s ergonomic simplicity and use of premium materials which are elevated further by new chrome accents on the start/stop button ring, steering wheel horn pad, and glove box handle.

The evolved KODO design delivers a sporty and emotional form that embodies Mazda’s artful design and clean Japanese aesthetics. For 2024, the 18-inch alloy wheels of the Mazda3 Sport variants receive new colors with the Mazda3 Sedan adopting a Bright Silver finish, while the Mazda3 Fastback gets a Black Metallic finish. The World Car Design of the Year winner comes in seven colors for 2024: Soul Red Crystal, Machine Gray, Platinum Quartz, Snowflake White Pearl, Polymetal Gray, Deep Crystal Blue, and Jet Black.

Establishing the Mazda3 as an excellent value proposition in the compact car segment, the 2024 Mazda3 Sport adds an Adaptive Front-Lighting System (AFS) to its LED headlights. AFS optimizes the distribution of light from the headlights according to driving circumstances. Depending on the vehicle speed and steering input, the system points the headlights in the direction the driver intends to travel for better visibility. Other exterior changes include LED daytime running lights and the adoption of LED signature rear illumination. For added safety, the Mazda3 Sport adds Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

Powering the Mazda3 Sport is Mazda’s 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G engine generating 155 PS at 6,000 rpm and 200 Nm at 4,000 rpm. This is mated to a 6-speed automatic with paddle shifters, cruise control, and Sport mode.

Meanwhile, the Mazda3 HEV’s 2024 improvements make it the safest compact car available in the market. It adds Front Cross Traffic Alert, Front Cross Brake Support, Rear Cross Brake Support, and the Driver Monitoring System on top of its 7 airbags, 360-degree camera, parking sensors on all corners, and standard suite of i-Activsense features that include Front & Rear Smart Brake Support, Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist, Cruising & Traffic Support, and High Beam Control among others.

Providing strong environmental performance without any detriment to its driver-centric character, the Mazda3 HEV’s 2.0-liter e-Skyactiv-G pairs the 2.0-liter engine with a compact integrated electric motor and lightweight lithium-ion battery that generates an additional 6.9 PS and 49 Nm of torque – figures that enable it to simultaneously propel the vehicle along with the car’s engine when the lithium-ion battery has sufficient charge. The Mazda3 HEV’s Hybrid System improves off-the-line acceleration, while reducing the engine’s load for increased fuel efficiency.

“Constant evolution and improvement has always been fundamental to Mazda’s ethos so it’s important that we pass on the benefits of new technologies to our customers as soon as we can,” says Steven Tan, president and CEO of Mazda Philippines. “With its upgrades to connectivity, safety, and comfort, the Mazda3 continues to be the best-looking and most generously equipped compact car in the market.”

The 2024 Mazda3 comes in four variants:

Mazda3 2.0 Sport Sedan – P 1,510,000

Mazda3 2.0 Sport Fastback – P 1,510,000

Mazda3 2.0 HEV Sedan – P 1,790,000
